CDI manufactures a complete line of government certified, and commercial grade, Secure Out of Band Management network equipment here at our headquarters in Boonton, NJ.

We asked our patent attorney if we could place “Made in The U.S.A.” on our literature and website. “That is a great question” he replied, “let me check it out”.  After a few weeks, he replied that because the bulk of our components are made offshore, we cannot use the term “Made in the U.S.A.”. This disappointed us greatly as we go through great pains to try and keep all our manufacturing here in the United States. We are also aware that most all of our competitors are having their entire product set made offshore, from design to fabrication, to enclosures, and packaging. We would like to ensure that we manufacture as much of the product as we can, here.

So, instead of the simple “Made in the U.S.A.”, here is our statement:

All of CDI’s manufacturing, and manufacturing subcontracting facilities, are located in the continental United States of America. Due to the nature of the electronics industry it is all but impossible to source 100% of our components in the United States. It is actually impossible to source close to 10% of our electronic components in the United States. Where at all possible, we buy American.

With the exception of our integrated circuits, discrete components (resistors, capacitors), connectors, LED’s etc. All of the rest of CDI products are comprised of, designed, and manufactured, in the United States of America.

We have our steel enclosures designed, built, painted, and silkscreened just up the road here in New Jersey. We have our raw Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) manufactured in the United States. These PCB’s are then assembled (automated parts inserted and wave soldered) in the United States by local ISO-9001 certified contract manufactures. By using local contract manufacturing we are able to keep our quality high and our prices competitive, while ensuring that the latest technology is being used to assemble our PCB’s in compliance with local EPA laws.

So while we cannot legally say “Made in the U.S.A.”, … you be the judge.
