What Are You Doing To Protect Your DAM Network?

As you may have read last week, the US Justice Department recently indicted seven Iranians for cyberattacks on US institutions. What you may not have heard is how the hackers attacked their target. The vulnerability in the Rye, New York  “dam story” was an unsecured modem:

Something you may not consider today is that the “back door” of your enterprise network is often more susceptible than the heavily fortified “front end”. Do you have Out-of-Band Management (OOBM) connections for network routers, switches, and firewalls? Are the connections attached to analog phone lines or unsecured devices? If so, your network may be reachable from any global location. How many vulnerable access points are in your infrastructure and who can reach them?
