SSM Secure SessionManager

Software Client for secure remote access into CDI devices using DDM database for NOC based technician access

The SSM, Secure Session Manager, is a client based software program that can provide technician access to the secure DDM database, allowing only access to the connection information for the devices. The technician will not be able to view or modify any security credentials concerning the devices or users in the database. This will allow the technician to point and click on any device to establish secure remote access via network or PSTN. The technician still has to go through whatever authentication or possible encryption that has been setup in the device for access.

General Information

The Problem
Managing a system of widely dispersed UniGuard and Port Authority unit protection systems can prove a daunting challenge.  When a technician requires console access through a remote device he needs a list of these devices.

The Solution
The SSM, Secure Session Manager, can use the DDM database to provide connections to UniGuard/Port Authority units at remote locations from multiple workstations. This eliminates the need to keep a separate list of each unit individually. The system provides only connection information to the technician and blocks out any security functions.

Security
The SSM uses the CDI client encryptors (UniGuard or SSE) to provide FIPS based security to the remote devices. Any DDM security functions are blocked out to the NOC technician allowing only a connection to the device or a reset of a locked up device.
