DDM Distributed Database Manager
Available in ODBC stand alone and Networked SQL2000 versions


DDM Distributed Database Manager is an Windows XP based software program that can manage and control thousands of remote UniGuard and Port Authority devices in the field. The software provides for multiple databases and multiple grouping of the remote devices. Each remote device can be grouped to allow for a single group of users access to multiple remote devices. The DDM contacts each remote device at predetermined intervals to update the remote database and to retrieve audit trail information . Audit trail information is placed into a database that allows for custom reports to be generated based on the administrators requirements for audit. This eliminates the administrator having to deal with hundreds of remotes individually! Now SecurID Ready!

General Information

The Problem
Managing a system of widely dispersed UniGuard and Port Authority unit protection systems can prove a daunting challenge. How can you be sure the user database and operating parameters of each unit is up to date? When a remote unit is added or replaced, how is it merged flawlessly with the rest of the system?

The Solution
The DDM, Distributed Database Manager, can maintain an unlimited number of UniGuard/Port Authority units at remote locations from a single workstation. This eliminates the need to update each unit individually whenever there is a database change. The system automatically maintains the database of each device and is capable of downloading the entire database of units. This process can be performed manually or set to occur automatically at periodic intervals. An SQL2000 version allows multiple DDM's to run simultaneously from one SQL database.

Security
Uploads and downloads are fully encrypted to prevent interception of confidential Data.

Additional Function
In addition to downloading databases into remote units the DDM has the ability using the Port Authority's four (4) or eight (8) Power Control Modules to power cycle remote devices that are "locked up". There is also a Secure Session Manager that allows technicians to easily access the remote devices.

The Security Administrator
The Security Administrator needs only to maintain one database at the central site and add or delete users as required from the database in the DDM.

The Distributed Database Manager is a software program that can manage the database and system parameters of an unlimited number of remote UniGuard/Port Authority units. This program is designed to function under Windows 2000/XP. The security databases of the remote devices are easily modified, synchronized and updated. Updates can be done manually or at predefined intervals either via phone lines or the Internet. Reports can be extracted on individual units, a group of units or all devices. Audit trails can be set to monitor specific events.
